Lionesses are independent, fierce, loyal, brave, strong, graceful and agile. The lion, a strong, proud and powerful animal, has long been associated with the Goddess…” ~Silvestra, Goddess Inspired
1. Celebrate your birthday like a Leo.
A Leo would consider it a travesty not to celebrate the day of her birth. The animal version of the lioness basks in the sunlight while the human version basks in the spotlight of her choosing. A day celebrating her life is certainly not to be squandered! She doesn’t worry about turning another year older because she regards aging as a choice inferior species fall snare to. The lioness, instead, chooses to be “ageless”:
To be ageless is to defy the rules of what it supposedly means to be this age or that age. It is, quite simply, to never grow “old”—to never feel as if the best days are behind you…” ~Christiane Northrup
2. Accept compliments like a Leo.
When you get a stage-ready physique, your body will become a matter of public discourse. You can fight it as much as you like, but it won’t matter. So, just accept this unsolicited attention as the compliment it is. No one would comment if your physique wasn’t “noteworthy”. Now, some will passively (or not so passively…) critique your physique as too skinny, too muscular, or too…much for them, but, at the end of the day, it’s your body, your masterpiece, your lump of clay to sculpt, so don’t let either side of the pendulum distract you too much.
3. Recharge like a Leo.
Balance your badass work with legit pampering! One of the biggest gifts from competing is this one. With your diet/cardio/strength program rigidly in place, you can’t caffienate, eat, or drink to do more. Without the option to deviate, you must recharge as you were meant to…legs up, Gorgeous!
4. Eat like a Leo.
In other words, EAT and secondly, eat what’s going to be good for your body, your skin… and your lioness locks. Greens, steamed veggies, berries, sweet potatoes, avocados, flax oil, and almonds…in controlled portions and paired with ample protein, please!
5. Move like a Leo.
The attributes “soft and strong” are attributes that best personify the movements of a lioness. She is graceful and yet fierce. These are also the attributes of the anniversary I am currently celebrating… the second one… gift, cotton:
Like the interwoven fibers of cotton, the second year of marriage brings a couple closer together as their lives become increasingly intertwined. And as cotton is at the same time both strong and soft, the couple is learning how to be flexible and adapt to each other’s needs.~Andrew & Christina Byers
As stage looms closer and all aspects of the process intensify, you learn how to be flexible and adapt to your own needs, too.
6. Live courageously like a Leo.
First and foremost, learn what’s not worth worrying about…
Ageless living is courageous living. It means being undistracted by the petty dramas of life because you have enough experience to know what’s not worth worrying about and what ought to be your priorities.” ~ Christiane Northrup
7. Surround yourself with like-minded lionesses.
With whom we surround ourselves limits or expands us.
You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.” ~Jim Rohn
Think about it… think about the five people you spend the most time with…see their impact, and continue to think beyond yourself in isolation:
…the values of the world we inhabit and the people we surround ourselves with have a profound effect on who we are.” ~Malcolm Gladwell
Who or what are you letting in? Filter accordingly. Be the lioness. Roar for your destiny.
