What does it mean to be a fit mama? There are gifts in every day…it need not be reserved for birthday week (or weeks plural as this self-professed brat sees it!) Today, the gift was unexpected. I was teaching my last class before vacation…willPower Barre-Fusion with one of my mother-daughter client duos (typically trio). The […]
Low energy can arise from fatigue, hunger, stress, or our emotional response to happenings, situations, and “energy vampires“. When we’re feeling low energetically, we may not have the option to uncork the wine bottle, raid the fridge, or hit the snooze button. We become responsible for our energy…a beautiful thing. Can you meditate with the TV […]
As my husband walks into the room pouring me a glass of Merlot from a fresh bottle of my fav, I roll my eyes with a half smile. He had just finished saying something about my meal plan and here he is defying the wine portion of that plan. Honey, I was supposed to finish […]
Not bad for (insert age here).” Well, I’m not twenty anymore.” This is me ten years ago when I looked ‘good’.” I wish I could lose these last (insert #) lbs.” The number on the scale, the size of your jeans…your weight, height, body fat percentage…the circumference of your thigh, waist, upper arm…the number of […]
Why do we knowingly make poor decisions out of alignment with our goals and deepest desires? Why does one person have seemingly more willpower than another? There are many theories about willpower. One says it’s like a muscle. Invariably, true. By building good habits, we strengthen ourselves…from ourselves. Another theory likens willpower to a battery…a […]
Last night, as I was sifting through my receipts to set up the accounting for the studio. I came across the receipt that was instrumental in this recent string of synchronicity. Saturday, August 15, 2015…Happy Nails…deluxe pedicure. Thank goodness for my high maintenance feet, a franchise no-go, and my slow-selling house. Thank goodness for this […]
The imposter syndrome festers in the feminine belief of unworthiness. This self-imposed need to continually prove ourselves and to emulate male patterns of success will only perpetuate the ceiling, not lift it and certainly not shatter it. Become a gate. Create change around you, about you…and, most especially, over you. Change is in the air. Shatter the glass where you can to experience the air outside.
This post isn’t for the fit chick or the buff dude, this one goes out to anyone who has ever wondered… Is it too late? Should I even bother?” [Spoiler alert: Yes, yes…YES!] My father visited me in class today.” I casually mentioned this to my husband over dinner last night. He raised an eyebrow […]
As the spouse, loved one, or caretaker of someone going through chemo, it is absolutely imperative that we develop this higher sense.
Oftentimes, we give ourselves permission to overdo or we overdo unknowingly thinking it will help us get closer to our fitness goals when it, in fact, takes us farther away.
Age isn’t just a number. It is a number to be wary of…wary of how much we identify with it.
When we are out of alignment with our purpose, we feel it in our bodies, our thoughts, and our life circumstances. Things do not manifest easily. But, don’t let this discourage you. See it as a signpost that would similarly instruct you to merge, take a detour, or…get a divorce.
