Friday morning at the Chopra Center, which means our morning yoga practice is dedicated to the Law of Detachment. Key word, law.
Admittedly, it’s difficult to detach…because our fear prods us to cling…to cling to our phones, to people…and most of all, to the expected outcome of our action. But, things flow better when we detach. Superior outcomes occur when we allow them to flow to us, not from us. We alter the behavior of our genes to flow without constriction. We upgrade our emotional experience.
Detachment is a law like gravity. You can ignore it if you like, but why would you want to do that? So, we practice…just like we had to “practice” with the law of gravity to stand, walk, run…ride a bike, we have to practice with the law of detachment.
So, find your downward facing dog or just a cup of ginger tea and your breath, and practice detaching…releasing your jaw…letting go. When your action comes from a pure place of intention, what flows back to you will match that. It’s law. Relax. “Life is good” 😉
